Education and Teacher Preparation Programs
Northeastern University offers a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and professional development programs in elementary, secondary, and higher education.

Traditional, full-time students may study to become teachers through the College of Arts and Sciences. Students major in a content area, such as English or mathematics, and take teacher preparation courses through the Department of Education.

Paraprofessionals seeking to become teachers may complete their bachelor's degree and earn a teacher's license through the unique "Bridge to Teaching" program offered by the Institute in Education.

Northeastern's School of Education offers graduate degrees and certificates for current teachers seeking to expand their knowledge and skills, and for aspiring teachers, career-changers, and school and college administrators. Programs include a Master of Arts in Teaching, a Master of Education, and Graduate Certificates in Adult and Organizational Learning, Higher Education Administration, and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).

Northeastern's Institute in Education provides teachers and schools with a variety of professional development programs, such as week-long summer institutes, MTEL workshops, content courses, additional licensure programs in special education or school administration, and consulting services.
